Job Summary
Lead two teams: a Platform Engineering group of five engineers and an Infrastructure team led by its own Lead, working closely together to create a self-service, smarter hybrid setup. Move the teams away from a ticket-driven service model toward product thinking, building developer platform capabilities on top of Kubernetes to enable self-service. Manage a hybrid environment consisting of on-premises hardware, datacenters, Azure, and a smaller AWS portion while steering cost-to-serve metrics based on cost per unit rather than utilization or ticket volume. Report directly to the CTO on the IT management team, supporting every company in the group including Comtree and Fibercrew.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record modernizing infrastructure and shifting a team from process-driven to product-driven ways of working
- Management experience leading multiple technical teams
- Strong knowledge on managing teams that run hardware and datacenters
- Strong instinct for cost-to-serve: managing to cost per unit, not utilization or ticket volume
- Experience building self-service and developer platform capabilities on top of Kubernetes
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments
- Azure knowledge
- AWS experience
- Experience in a cost-leadership or scale-up environment
- Knowledge of Kubernetes consolidation or similar infrastructure simplification efforts
- Familiarity with NIS2/ISO 27001
