Job Summary
Supervise and lead a team of utility workers to ensure the project is completed safely and accurately. Coordinate with project managers to plan and schedule utility installation or maintenance tasks. Safely excavate and set electrical manholes, trench multi-pipe duct banks, and form transformer pads. Layout trenches and manholes in rows and easements while maintaining communication with engineers and project managers. Report daily or weekly progress and maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Adhere to all safety policies and guidelines set by HJD Capital Electric. This role is critical in ensuring utilities infrastructure projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget across the greater San Antonio area.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a lead or Foreman on utility projects
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and provide clear direction to crews
- Able to locate existing utilities
- Capable of locating elevations and shooting grades
- Must be competent in trench and manhole shoring procedures
- Experience working outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold)
- Physical capability to carry up to 80 lbs and perform manual labor
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and initiative to seek additional tasks when needed
- Must have a safety-first mindset to identify and mitigate potential hazards
