Job Summary
Infrastructure Engineer responsible for delivery of back end IT infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and ongoing support of server, storage, and related components. Tasks include design, implementation, and documentation of technical solutions to meet customer specifications, participation in project meetings and change processes, and creation/maintenance of run books and design documents. The role involves working within a team or independently, reporting opportunities for improvement, occasional out-of-hours work, and staying current with server and storage technologies while applying agile/automation practices. Key skills include Windows server environments, VMware/NetApp/Linux ecosystems, automation tooling (Puppet, Ansible, Satellite), scripting, and effective communication across levels.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree or minimum 3 years experience in a third line support or project delivery role
- Experience with Windows Server 2003-2022 and core services (DHCP/DNS/PKI/AD)
- Experience with VMware (NSX, Vcentre, Aria) and NetApp storage
- Linux skills desirable (Red Hat, Puppet, Satellite, Ansible, IDM)
- Experience in a large managed estate and Agile ways of working
- Understanding of automation principles and scripting languages
