Infrastructure Engineer
$31,200–$31,200 year
HybridAtlanta, Georgia, United States
Job Summary
Own the AWS footprint and the code that defines it by converting manual configurations into merge requests. Manage local development environments with Dev containers and Compose to mirror production closely. Own GitLab pipelines and runners, optimizing build times, capacity, and caching for reliability. Transform monitoring to provide root cause analysis rather than raw alerts. Leverage AI-assisted development workflows throughout the lifecycle, from feature design to refactoring and documentation. This role requires US citizenship or a valid work visa. Competitive compensation and equity are offered alongside hybrid work in Atlanta.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive background managing production-grade AWS environments, with a mastery of compute, networking, and data storage services managed through robust infrastructure-as-code practices
- Strong Docker fundamentals, including multi-stage builds, layer caching, and image optimization, with a track record of images that stay small, build fast, and behave the same in CI as they do in production
- Fluency with infrastructure-as-code in Terraform or AWS CDK, including module design, state management, and patterns that scale cleanly across multiple environments
- Substantial expertise in architecting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Substantial expertise operating within SOC 2 or PCI DSS frameworks, with an understanding of how to balance functional security controls and rigorous documentation
- Experience with compliance platforms such as Vanta for managing audit documentation and evidence gathering
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) and well-developed opinions on effective AI interaction patterns and workflows
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prompt and collaborate with AI coding assistants to accelerate development, with experience integrating these tools into team workflows for code review, refactoring, test generation, or documentation
- Experience working with APIs using Golang, Python, or a similar language
- Experience with relational databases and developing transactional software
- Serverless systems development experience working with AWS services like API Gateway, EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, and Cognito
- Understanding of system design principles, including loose coupling, separation of concerns, and scalable architecture patterns
- US citizenship or existing work visa
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code for development workflows such as code review, refactoring, or test generation
- Experience with payments, fintech, or another regulated industry
- Have experience in the logistics industry
