Job Summary
Infrastructure Engineer II responsible for day-to-day operations of enterprise Linux, storage, and virtualization platforms, including incident response and routine maintenance (patching) to ensure secure, stable infrastructure for utility systems. Tasks include supporting Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux), storage platforms (Pure, Isilon), backup/restore (Avamar, Rubrik, Acronis), virtualization (VMware vSphere, Oracle Linux KVM), automation (Ansible, Bash/Python), and application platforms (Oracle Utility Suite, IBM Maximo, OMS). Must monitor health, respond to alerts, perform root cause analysis, and participate in on-call rotations. Role requires hybrid work (minimum two days in office in Pittsburgh) and may involve exposure to container platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes), Terraform/automation frameworks, and security/compliance activities (IdM, patches). Requires strong troubleshooting, multi-tasking in production, clear communication, and a willingness to learn across infrastructure platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of infrastructure experience (Linux, storage, or virtualization)
- Experience with Linux, storage, and virtualization environments
- Ability to perform incident triage, patching, and routine maintenance
- Familiarity with automation tooling (Ansible, scripting)
- Exposure to container platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes) is preferred
- Knowledge of Red Hat Satellite and OLAM is a plus
