Job Summary
Senior Infrastructure/Platform Engineer to install, configure, and set up enterprise servers across Linux, Windows, and Solaris; assist the Solution Architect in implementing proposed solutions and lead project engineers through deployments. Responsibilities include infrastructure design and architecture support using Bare Metal, Virtual Servers, Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Satellite, and serverless cloud services; manage virtualization (VMware/ESXi) and enterprise OS (RHEL, Windows Server, Oracle Solaris); implement high-availability clustering and OS sharing; assess and optimize server configurations; maximize automation via shell scripting; handle SLA/escalation management and ITSM incident response with a rostered after-hours rotation; perform daily health checks, monitoring, and operational reporting; contribute to project leadership, documentation, and runbooks; and participate in ongoing transitions toward modern platform structures.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical field
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux (especially Red Hat) and Windows Server environments
- Experience with VMware ESXi virtualization
- Experience with Oracle Solaris environments (sharing, zoning, HA)
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Docker/Kubernetes
- Cloud experience with public clouds (Tanzu, AWS, Azure)
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible) and scripting
