Job Summary

Demonstrate project controls expertise on large capital projects, specifically Utility New Gas Generation, by developing integrated schedules, WBS structures, and cost control techniques. Identify and analyze schedule and cost variances to assess impacts on milestones and outcomes, while performing analytics on critical paths and contractor performance trends. Collaborate with client personnel, engineering firms, and contractors to implement project management standards, support Stage Gate reviews, and validate reported progress for invoice analysis. Develop performance metrics, dashboards, and reports to provide leadership with visibility into project risks and emerging issues. Conduct field walkdowns to ensure safety compliance and adherence to site rules.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field
  • 6 years of equivalent/related work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of capital project scheduling experience on process industry projects such as power generation, oil and gas, refining, chemicals, or mining
  • Project values of $500 million or greater
  • High proficiency with Primavera P6
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules
  • Experience performing project controls analysis across schedule, cost, progress, change, risk, and reporting disciplines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sense of urgency
  • Self-starter behaviors
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced project environment
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and project controls information clearly to project managers, project leadership, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to perform field walkdown observations/inspections on foot across moderate to rough terrain
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs overhead

Desired Qualifications

  • Direct capital project scheduling experience on Utility New Gas Generation projects
  • Experience on Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) projects
  • Experience on Simple Cycle Gas Turbine projects
  • Project scheduling experience working directly for a utility/owner, EPC contractor, engineering firm, or Owner's Engineer on major power generation projects
  • Experience working with EPC contracts and projects executed under various contracting strategies, including EPC and multi-prime delivery models
  • Experience evaluating contractor schedules
  • Experience validating contractor progress
  • Experience analyzing schedule performance trends
  • Experience supporting invoice review
  • Experience with Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA)
  • Experience with project risk management
  • Experience with change management
  • Experience with cost management
  • Experience with contract management
  • Experience with performance reporting
  • Experience creating project and portfolio performance metrics using standardized dashboards and reports
  • Demonstrable experience working at construction sites, engineering offices, fabrication facilities, and other project delivery locations in support of major capital project teams
  • Certifications from PMI and/or AACE International (AACEi)
