Infrastructure & Capital Projects – Data Engineering Specialist, COM (12 Months Fixed Term Contract)

Job Summary
Data Engineer to support large-scale capital infrastructure programs with a focus on data ingestion, transformation, and analytics enablement. Design and implement ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory into Snowflake; curate analytics-ready data for Power BI reporting; normalize and conform data from internal systems and external supply-chain sources; manage slowly changing dimensions, historical views, and KPI definitions; build analytics-focused data models and support Power BI refresh strategies; collaborate with BI developers and analysts to ensure semantic consistency between Snowflake models and Power BI measures; work within Snowflake and Power BI environments (Oracle Primavera P6/PMIS familiarity is a plus); located in downtown Toronto with some travel to client sites in a hybrid delivery model.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Advanced-level SQL with Snowflake-specific syntax and optimization
- Experience ingesting structured files using Snowpipe/COPY INTO/External Tables
- Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture (Virtual Warehouses, Storage/Compute, Time Travel)
- Experience with data modeling in Snowflake (star schema, SCDs, conformed dimensions)
- Hands-on ETL/ELT development with dbt, Azure Data Factory, and SQL
- Experience collaborating with BI developers and analysts; translating requirements into scalable solutions
- Experience with JIRA, Git, and collaborative development practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related field; Master’s preferred
- Nice to have: Snowflake certifications; exposure to Primavera P6 or similar PMIS; Power BI project experience; SharePoint/M365 familiarity
- Understanding of capital project controls, scheduling, procurement, or commissioning
