Job Summary
Technology Trainers teach OATS curriculum to older adults via virtual/hybrid formats, create a supportive learning environment, promote OATS culture, coordinate with staff, and use tools like Zoom, Salesforce, and Microsoft Teams to manage data and deliver 9-5, Monday-to-Friday instruction. They communicate complex technical information in clear, accessible terms to seniors, adapt curriculum to diverse levels of tech comfort, participate in trainer meetings and special projects, and travel to senior/community centers as needed. They also engage participants in activities such as emailing, social media, online banking, and digital literacy tasks, while representing Senior Planet and contributing to program outreach and data entry. The role requires independence, collaboration within a training team, strong time management, patience, humor, and a commitment to social change.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent speaking and communication skills
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly in either English / OR English and Mandarin / OR English and Spanish
- Experience teaching teenagers, adults, and/or seniors
- Proficiency with Windows computers, iOS, popular social media sites, and other common technologies/devices
- Comfortable traveling to various senior/community centers as needed, when/if safe to do so
- Ability to work independently and as part of a training team
- Superior time-management skills
- Flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a professional work setting
