Information Technology Specialist

Information Technology Specialist to support IT program objectives at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. Responsibilities include assisting senior personnel with IT program objectives, installing software packages, designing and maintaining information processing applications, and installing information security systems. Provide support to telecommunications efforts related to security systems; proactively address issues to prevent system failures; provide technical support to prevent outages and downtime; configure and manage secure video teleconferencing equipment; perform configuration management and initial diagnostics of information systems; coordinate repairs and diagnostics of hardware and software failures; install and configure operating systems and applications and assist end users; inventory hardware/software and ensure software licensing compliance; assist with COMSEC account maintenance and conduct self-inspections as required; support the Government’s Configuration Control Board (CCB); diagnose and resolve computer/network problems; use tools to diagnose performance issues; update security databases and recommend modifications for improved operations; enforce Standard Operating Procedures for IT and Information Assurance; implement IT department policies to support government needs; ensure project milestones are met within budgets; manage problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up; required Associate’s Degree or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience, Information Assurance Technical Level II Certification, Security+ Certification, and Top Secret clearance.
