Job Summary
IT Project Manager at Big 5 Sporting Goods leads technology projects from the Tustin office, coordinating planning, scope, budgets, and go-live efforts. Oversees project resources, tracks progress, prepares weekly status reports, and collaborates with Product Managers to manage stakeholders, risk, and resource availability. Combines Waterfall and Agile approaches to fit project type, with cross-functional team leadership and emphasis on communication, delivery within time/cost constraints, and ensuring project objectives are met. Requires a degree in a related field and PMP or similar certification, plus 3+ years of technology project management experience; hybrid work arrangement with 3 days onsite and 2 remote. Required Qualifications
- Degree in computer science, business administration, or related field
- PMP certification or related project management certification
- Minimum of three years of experience managing technology projects
- Experience with Agile and Scrum techniques
- Experience with SaaS and Cloud solutions
- Experience with project life cycle management and SDLC
- Experience with different project management tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and related office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across various levels
- Exceptional customer-facing presence
- Ability to lead and motivate others
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations
- Experience with application and system testing best practices
