Job Summary
Own every ticket from intake to close across phone, chat, in-person, and remote channels, identifying root causes and driving long-term fixes. Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, networking equipment, servers, and public safety systems like CAD and RMS while training users. Collaborate with departments to recommend practical technology solutions for enterprise applications, integrations, and cloud infrastructure. Monitor City infrastructure including Microsoft 365 services and oversee PC deployment projects. Implement automation using PowerShell and low-code tools, and contribute to the full lifecycle of IT projects from planning through post-implementation care. Provide hands-on support for mission-critical Police and Fire systems and evaluate emerging AI solutions. Requires a valid California Class C driver's license and extensive security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Equivalent to an associate's degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience performing technical, analytical, and support tasks for computer systems.
- Valid California Class C driver's license at time of hire and throughout employment.
- This position is required to obtain an extensive security clearance to operate in a public safety environment with service to the City's police and fire departments.
Desired Qualifications
- IT/IS certifications are preferred.
