Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

Job Summary

Conduct information systems security engineering activities throughout the system development and acquisition lifecycles. Capture and refine information protection requirements to ensure their integration into IS acquisitions and IS development through purposeful security design or configuration. Integrate security functional requirements into existing acquisition lifecycle phases, milestones, and deliverables using systems engineering principles and methodologies. Coordinate activities with Assessment and Authorization stakeholders and utilize Analytics/Metrics tools to identify trends and patterns across the Enterprise. This role requires knowledge of ICD 503 and the Government's certification and accreditation process, proficiency with networks and COTS technology, and expertise in software integration of COTS and GOTS products. Candidates must hold a Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph and possess one of the listed IAT Level III certifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and experience with ICD 503 and the Government's certification and accreditation process
  • Proficient with networks, computer components, system protocols, and COTs technology
  • Knowledge of system methodologies including: client/server, web hosting, web content servers, policy servers, directory servers, firewalls, WAN, MAN, LAN, switches, and routers
  • Expertise in software integration of COTS and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) products
  • Education relevant to computer engineering, information security, information management, and/or computer science
  • Experience in technical project management
  • Technical experience in configuring and supporting, at minimum, Windows, Linux, Unix, Mac OS
  • Technical experience in configuring and supporting, at minimum, VMware, Xen, Hyper V
  • Technical experience in software engineering, program design and implementation, configuration management, system maintenance, integration testing, and information system engineering
  • High school's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, or Associate's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Must have one of the following IAT Level III Certification: CISSP, CASP, CISA, GCED, GCIH
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance
  • Active Counterintelligence (CI) or Full Scope (FS) Polygraph
