Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

Job Summary
Design and implement security solutions for information systems, conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analysis, and monitor and respond to security incidents and breaches. Develop and enforce security policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations such as NIST and HIPAA. Collaborate with other teams to integrate security measures into systems, utilizing proficiency in security tools, encryption technologies, and identity and access management practices. This role requires a TS/SCI Full Poly clearance and U.S. citizenship. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Digital Forensics, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering
- 4-5 years experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree
- 4-5 years experience credit for a Bachelor's Degree
- 2 years experience credit for a Master's Degree
- TS/SCI Full Poly
- Full U.S. Citizenship
- Proficiency in security tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems)
- Strong understanding of encryption technologies
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., NIST, HIPAA)
- Experience with vulnerability scanning and penetration testing
- Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) practices
- Expertise in threat detection and mitigation strategies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with cloud security models (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of network security protocols and architecture
- Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools
- Proficiency in security automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Understanding of secure software development practices
- Experience with risk management frameworks and security audits
