Information System Security Engineer (ISSE)

Job Summary
Administer, maintain, and upgrade classified virtual enterprise systems including VMware, Cisco, Palo Alto, and Windows/Linux environments. Perform continuous monitoring and security testing using ACAS/Nessus, then implement mitigation solutions for identified vulnerabilities and patching requirements. Maintain HBSS installations, troubleshoot switching and routing, and configure firewalls while collaborating with the ISSO team to create and update procedural documents for configuration management, business continuity, and disaster recovery. This role requires an active Secret clearance with Top Secret preferred and involves 8+ years of experience in system deployment, network engineering, and team leadership within a DoD program in Westford, MA.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance
- 8+ years of experience in deploying, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring computer systems and networks
- Previous team leadership experience
- Experience with implementing highly technical solutions and reporting their importance to the organization and stakeholders
- Technical certifications such as a CISSP, CCNA, Security +, RHCSA, or similar
- Experience with Enterprise Switching and Firewalls
- Familiarity RedHat Enterprise Linux
- VMware vSphere Experience (ESXi, vCenter, etc.)
- Windows Workstation and Server deployment and administration experience
- Network engineering experience
- Must be available for on-site security engineering
- Must be available for systems administration
- Must be available for information assurance support
- Must be able to administer, maintain, upgrade, and ensure the readiness of several classified virtual enterprise systems
- Must be able to perform continuous monitoring and systems security testing
- Must be able to implement and provide mitigation solutions for identified findings and patching requirements
- Must be able to Maintain, Troubleshoot, Upgrade Switching, Routing, Firewalls
- Must be able to Maintain HBSS installation and ensure upstream connection
- Must be able to Collaborate with the ISSO team and program/project staff to create, implement, and maintain procedural documents and operations
- Must be able to Perform enterprise software installations and upgrades
- Must be able to meet RMF, NIST, and NISPOM requirements, configurations, settings, and documentation
Desired Qualifications
- Top Secret clearance
- Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, Cisco IOS, Juniper JunOS
- Ansible or PowerShell automation experience
- Network engineering experience highly sought after
