Job Summary
Teach required and non-required library instruction sessions to undergraduate and graduate students, collaborating with the Information Literacy and Instructional Design Librarian on the curriculum and developing new lessons as needed. Assist in maintaining the library classroom, providing shared handouts and rubrics, and collecting program statistics. Document lesson plans, assessment evidence, and data for all classes taught. Work a weekly two-hour shift on the Research Help Desk. Complete a background check and attend mandatory training including emergency plans and hazard communication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1 year of academic library and/or teaching experience
- Exceptional organizational skills

- Ability to set and keep deadlines
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Research skills in a dynamic electronic environment such as effective database searching techniques, strategies, and use of a variety of programs and digital research platforms
- Knowledge of the (ACRL) Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education and other important instruction information literacy practices and the assessment of them
- Knowledge of 'Best Practices' of classroom pedagogy in higher education to be able to apply these practices
- Public speaking skills to make effective and engaging presentations to diverse groups
- Work flexibly, independently, and collaboratively with colleagues, staff, faculty, and students fostering a collegial work environment that encourages growth, inclusivity, innovation, curiosity, and rigor
- Satisfactory background check
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear
