Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Support Intern

Job Summary
Intern will provide first-level ICT helpdesk support, handle helpdesk tickets, assist in IT projects and upgrades, help set up new equipment, and collaborate with IT team to ensure smooth IT operations. The internship is based at IWMI’s headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and offers a monthly stipend for a duration of 6 months with potential extension; eligibility is for Sri Lankan citizens only. The role emphasizes organizing and responding to tickets, resolving IT issues, and gaining exposure to ICT in an international development organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, OR equivalent professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
- Previous IT training experience is advantageous
- Good command of English (spoken and written)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team
- Knowledge of Personal Computers, common hardware, modern Windows desktop OS and MS Office
- Familiarity with Office 365/Microsoft 365, MacOS, Android and iOS
