Infirmary Registered Nurse

Job Summary
Perform nursing assessments for inmate patients in intake areas, health care units, and emergency situations. Coordinate medication administration and therapeutic treatments while collaborating with primary care providers to ensure continuity of care. Promote patient safety through proper identification, documentation, and adherence to infection control policies. Deliver individualized care utilizing the nursing process to address minor ailments and complex medical conditions. Maintain BLS or CPR certification and function independently within the facility. Work nights, weekends, and holidays with on-call duty available. Maintain security clearance and uphold HIPAA and PREA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted license to practice as Registered Nurse in the state the facility is located
- RN experience
- Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills
- Ability to make decisions independently
- Assertive, empathetic and able to provide care objectively
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team
- Ability to command the respect and confidence of inmates and staff
- philosophically committed to the objectives of the facility
- Maintains an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests
- Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility
- Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts
