Job Summary
Infectious Disease Officer with the U.S. Army Medical Corps, responsible for studying the causes, effects, and patterns of infectious diseases, including biological warfare threats. Through research, you may confirm, diagnose, treat and control transmission of infectious diseases within the military and supporting communities. May participate in humanitarian missions; option to serve in the Regular Army or Army Reserve. Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy
- Must have a current, valid, active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia, or U.S. territory
- Must be eligible for board certification
- Must have completed at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship
- Permanent resident of the United States
- Foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
- Must be able to meet the criteria to be appointed as a commissioned officer in the US Army Reserve
