Job Summary
Lead the facility's infection prevention and control program by screening new admissions for infectious diseases, reviewing TB/PPD and vaccination requirements within 72 hours, and monitoring device utilization for Foley catheters and central lines. Conduct daily reviews of nursing reports and microbiology data to identify healthcare-associated infections, ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, and NJDOH regulations, and oversee visitor screening processes. Develop and evaluate comprehensive staff education and training programs, coordinate orientation and onboarding, and facilitate ongoing clinical competency training for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Provide regular infection prevention reports to leadership and support Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Infection Preventionist (IP) Certification
- Strong experience providing healthcare staff training and education
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or healthcare setting
- At least six (6) months of experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing
- Experience with SigmaCare
- Strong knowledge of CDC, CMS, and NJDOH regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) preferred
- Infection Preventionist (IP) Certification preferred
