Job Summary
Infection Preventionist at Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL, responsible for overseeing and implementing infection control measures within a healthcare facility, conducting surveillance to identify and classify infections, tracking hospital-acquired infection trends, investigating clusters, designing epidemiological investigations, performing routine infection prevention rounds, and ensuring regulatory compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, and IDPH standards. Collaborates with Facilities and other departments, communicates with public health authorities, maintains records, leads education for staff, and participates in system-wide infection-control policy development. Requires advanced education in nursing, medical technology, or public health, and CIC certification within two years of start date; candidates should have relevant clinical experience and strong interpersonal and educational skills; fluency with regulatory frameworks and EMR systems is expected. This role is based at Evanston Hospital and includes on-call responsibilities evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing required
- Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology required
- Bachelor's Degree Public Health required
- Certified in Infection Control (CBIC) within two years of start date required
- 2 years of experience as a staff nurse or laboratory scientist with infectious diseases background required
- Registered Nurse (RN) Illinois required or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) required
- Experience in infection prevention and regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, OSHA, IDPH) required
