Job Summary
Coordinate and supervise the hospital-wide infection prevention program across inpatient units, ambulatory clinics, satellites, and community sites; perform ongoing surveillance using CDC criteria, investigate nosocomial infections, apply epidemiologic principles to identify trends, design and evaluate prevention strategies, and enforce infection control policies. Responsibilities include coordinating infection control activities, recommending isolation precautions, organizing hospital infection control meetings and education for clinical staff, contributing to regulatory compliance (TJC, OSHA, CMS, MA DPH), conducting environmental rounds, collaborating with occupational health and biosafety teams, and providing ongoing education to staff and patients to reduce infection risks. Required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, medicine, medical technology, or public health with 2 years of infection control experience; CIC certification and oncology experience preferred; strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills; proficiency with Outlook, Word, EPIC and Excel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an approved school of nursing, medicine, medical technology or public health required; BSN preferred.
