Job Summary
Infection Preventionist responsible for providing primary skin care to residents under medical direction with emphasis on infection prevention practices. Performs rounds, monitors infection prevention, collects data on healthcare-associated infections, conducts outbreak investigations, trains staff on prevention practices, maintains records, and ensures availability of infection-prevention supplies. Duties include consulting with nursing leadership, assessing residents, initiating referrals, identifying and managing skin disorders, supporting rehabilitation activities, and reporting to the attending physician, Medical Director, or DON. Staff education, adherence to policies, and communication with families and physicians are required.
Required Qualifications
- LPN/RN with current unencumbered state licensure
- Wound Certification from accredited institution preferred
- Must have current CPR certification
- Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years of experience as an LPN/RN
