Job Summary
Lead the collaborative implementation of an entity-specific, facility-wide infection prevention and control program under the direction of the entity Director of Quality and Patient Safety Officer. Plans, develops, implements, administers, and evaluates the Annual Infection Prevention Plan while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including public reporting of hospital-acquired infections and reportable diseases. Educate physicians and practitioners on system-based causes for infections, collaborate with the medical staff to review hospital-acquired infections, and develop evidence-based strategies for surveillance, investigation, and control. Provide continuous oversight on equipment and environmental cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization processes throughout the operating group. Maintain a comprehensive database of infections and communicable diseases. This role supports St. Anthony Hospital's commitment to high standards of safety and compliance within a Level I Trauma Center environment.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of Adult learning concepts
- Meeting or project facilitation skills
- Ability to create and present quality data using tools such as Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, statistical and analytical abilities
- Knowledge in epidemiological principles
- Bachelor in Healthcare related field
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certified Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC)
Desired Qualifications
- Five (5) years of clinical or related experience
