Job Summary
Infection Prevention Officer responsible for infectious disease prevention, management, screening, reporting, and employee-health compliance within the facility healthcare program. Supports implementation of infectious disease precautions, tuberculosis screening and isolation, medical employee health documentation, staff education on health emergencies and infection-related practices, and coordination with government medical authorities to promote a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include adherence to local/state/federal guidelines, screening processes, tuberculosis screening within 12 hours of admission, immediate isolation for suspected TB, follow-up with radiographs within 5 days when required, notification to authorities within one working day for confirmed/suspected TB, annual TB evaluations, and maintenance of employee health records. Requires RN licensure in Maryland, BLS, and a nursing degree; BLS and nursing credentials must be maintained. The role is full-time and may be eligible for an additional sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Maryland
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Graduate or higher-level degree in professional nursing (bachelor's degree or higher) from an accredited program
- Ability to obtain or maintain licensure in Maryland
- Experience in infection prevention or healthcare quality/safety programs preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted for permanent residence
- Must maintain residency in the continental U.S.
- Background investigation; security clearances may be required
- Minimum age 21
- Proficiency in Spanish preferred
