Job Summary
Develop and maintain infection control policies to meet CMS, DPH, Joint Commission, and OSHA requirements. Conduct surveillance, analyze infection data, and lead outbreak investigations while collaborating with clinical and administrative teams. Coordinate the Infection Prevention Committee, facilitate staff training on prevention techniques, and manage the annual employee health immunization and N95 fit testing programs. Analyze trends to identify improvement opportunities and ensure complete regulatory data reporting. This role supports the Quality, Safety and Infection Prevention Nurse within Gaylord Specialty Healthcare's rehabilitation mission.
Required Qualifications
- RN or LPN
- valid/current license
- Current nursing license in the state of CT
- Part-time/16 hours
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B. A.)
- three years clinical experience
- Experience in Infection Prevention and/or training
- Infection Certification
- Good interpersonal skills
- In-depth knowledge of epidemiologic principles
- In-depth knowledge of infectious diseases
- In-depth knowledge of sterilization
- In-depth knowledge of sanitation
- In-depth knowledge of patient care
- In-depth knowledge of disinfection practices
- In-depth knowledge of adult education principles
