Job Summary
Develop infection prevention programs, policies, and procedures while conducting periodic rounds of all clinical areas to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. Perform surveillance of the Infection Prevention program, identify infection clusters and outbreaks, and analyze data from medical records and incident reports to drive quality improvement activities. Collaborate with departments to implement annual goals, coordinate trainings, and consult on infection control problems related to employee health. Submit reports of rounds, regulatory updates, and mandated communicable disease information to Senior Leadership and the Public Health Department. Maintain working knowledge of departmental policies, participate in peer reviews, and drive innovations in performance improvement using statistical analysis and team facilitation techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years as a license Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a community clinic setting performing infection control duties
- Current CA Driver License
- Ability to drive to several locations
- Ability to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, social, and economic backgrounds
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with patients, professionals, and work as an effective team unit
- Ability to work independently, as a team, and under pressure
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Active member of APIC or board certification in APIC within 2 years of employment to be attempted if not already obtained
- Experience utilizing an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system preferred
- Bilingual preferred
