Job Summary
Coordinate the Infection Prevention and Control Program by collecting, analyzing, and providing infection data and trends to nursing staff and healthcare practitioners. Consult on infection risk assessment, prevention, and control strategies while providing education and training to implement evidence-based practices mandated by regulatory agencies and CDC guidelines. Oversee the surveillance system, including standardized definitions, walking rounds, and statistical analysis to identify outbreaks, then share reports with the director of nursing and medical director. Monitor staff practices to ensure consistent implementation of standard and transmission-based precautions, review antibiotic use, and plan for containing outbreaks.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
- Valid license in the state employed
- Valid CPR certification
- Two years of nursing experience preferred with training in Infection Control
