Job Summary
Infection Control Professional (N4) provides clinical expertise, support, and direction to staff and interdisciplinary teams on infection prevention and control issues. Leads development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of regional IP&C policies and procedures, oversees local IP&C interventions and education, advises on infection control measures to minimize HAIs, conducts targeted surveillance, and collaborates across care settings. Role includes leading IP&C education initiatives, participating in IP&C research, and ensuring alignment with WRHA IP&C direction. Requires nursing degree, IPAC-related certification/coursework, and leadership capabilities; must be licensed (CRNM) and able to travel within the designated area. Finalists may be required to obtain CIC designation within two years of hire. FTE 0.50, days, in-person; Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
- CRNM license in good standing
- CIC designation or eligibility to obtain within 2 years
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control course (IPAC Canada) or equivalent
- Experience in Infection Prevention and Control preferred; leadership experience
- Ability to travel within geographic area (Manitoba)
- Demonstrated knowledge of IP&C competencies (microbiology, epidemiology, etc.)
- Strong communication and education delivery skills
- Experience with program development, policy implementation, and quality improvement
