Job Summary
RN Infection Preventionist role coordinating and overseeing staff orientation and ongoing education, leading staff development to ensure competency, supporting the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP), collaborating with leadership to set annual IPCP goals, monitoring infection control practices to identify risks and opportunities, providing infection prevention education across orientation and training programs, participating in surveys and inspections for regulatory readiness, and serving as a clinical resource for infection control and staff education while fostering teamwork and engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License
- At least two (2) years of management or leadership experience in a long-term care environment
- Infection Prevention certification (CDC) or willingness to obtain
- Strong working knowledge of state rules, regulations, and infection control practices
- Ability to be available as a resource to the facility as needed
- Flexibility to support training across all shifts and departments
- Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills
- A passion for caring for and improving the lives of residents
- Positive, dependable attitude with excellent attendance
