Job Summary
Infection Prevention Nurse role combining direct bedside nursing with infection prevention program leadership across Emergency Services, Acute Care, Swing Bed, SNF, and clinic settings in a rural Critical Access Hospital. Responsibilities include frontline clinical support, surveillance of healthcare-associated infections, outbreak management, staff education, regulatory oversight, and ensuring CMS/CDPH compliance. Requires active CA RN license and BLS; CIC preferred or willingness to obtain; ACLS preferred; BSN preferred. Strong clinical assessment, infection prevention expertise, and ability to operate independently in a rural CAH environment are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain
- BLS certification required
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain
- ACLS preferred
- BSN preferred
- Experience in acute care, emergency services, long-term care, or skilled nursing
- Infection prevention experience preferred
- Knowledge of CAH regulations and CMS requirements
