Job Summary
Teachers are responsible for providing high-quality care and education that meets the needs of children and families in a setting inclusive for all abilities. Responsibilities include cultivating a learning environment, developing and implementing curriculum, maintaining a stimulating classroom, fostering communication with families, observing and assessing child progress, conducting daily health checks, and facilitating activities. Required qualifications include a high school diploma, an AA degree preferred, a current Child Development permit, experience in Early Childhood Education, and certifications in Pediatric First Aid and CPR.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- AA degree preferred
- Current Child Development permit at the Associate Teacher level or above
- Successful completion of 12 or more semester units in Early Childhood Education
- Completion of 6 units of infant/toddler development with grade C or above
- Current certificates for Pediatric First Aid and CPR
- 15 hours of preventative health and safety training or completion within 90 days of hire
- Ability to work in high-stress situations
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual / Multi-lingual preferred
- Experience as Early Childhood Classroom Teacher and/or in Head Start and Early Head Start programs
- Experience working with children and families of diverse cultural backgrounds
