Job Summary
Infant/Toddler Teacher providing safety, health, and development support in collaboration with parents and early childhood professionals in Head Start and licensing contexts. Responsibilities include planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, conducting developmental screenings and assessments, maintaining a safe and engaging classroom, coordinating home visits and parent-teacher conferences, supporting family engagement, and supervising classroom staff and volunteers. Requires relevant education credentials (CDA or higher in ECE/CD, with approved coursework) and ability to meet Oregon licensing and Head Start standards. Metro locations offer higher pay in some steps.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria or higher AND Infant Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate within 6 months from date of hire; or One year Oregon community college certificate1 in field within 1 year from date of hire WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development.
- High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria AND Infant Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate; or One year Oregon community college certificate1 in field WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Early childhood education or child development WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development; or Any field and coursework equivalent2 to a major relating to early child hood education or child development WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early childhood education or child development WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development; or Any field and coursework equivalent3 to a major relating to early childhood education or child development with training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development.
