Job Summary
Infant/Toddler Teacher plans and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing, ensures safety and health of infants and toddlers, conducts developmental screenings, collaborates with families and specialists, participates in home visits and parent conferences, supervises staff and volunteers, maintains records, supports nutrition and health practices, and responds to emergencies. Role requires collaboration with parents and caregivers, adherence to licensing standards, and ongoing professional development within Oregon Head Start programming.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate within 6 months from date of hire; OR One year Oregon community college certificate in early childhood development with focus on infant/toddler development
- Infant/Toddler Teacher A: Associate’s degree or higher in Early childhood education or related field WITH training in infant/toddler development; or coursework equivalent to a major in early childhood education or development WITH focus on infant/toddler development
- Infant/Toddler Teacher B: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early childhood education or development WITH training in infant/toddler development; or equivalent coursework in early childhood education or development WITH focus on infant/toddler development
