Job Summary
Infant/Toddler Teacher in a Head Start program responsible for implementing the classroom educational program. Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate learning experiences to promote literacy, language, vocabulary, early math and science, and problem-solving. Establish a safe, nurturing environment; support social-emotional development; engage families through home visits and parent conferences; maintain daily lesson plans, promote developmentally appropriate practices, and supervise children and volunteers. Collaborate with staff, participate in IEP meetings when requested, and assist with data management and documentation. Start date ASAP; compensation varies by educational attainment (CDA or higher) and experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Child Development Associate (CDA) with Infant/Toddler Endorsement
- One year experience working with infants and/or toddlers (6 weeks to 3 years)
- Valid driver’s license and transportation with liability insurance
- Willingness to travel out of area overnight for training
- Ability to pass tuberculosis screening annually and health examination
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Read, write and perform mathematical calculations
- Participate in training and professional development
- Confidentiality and professional conduct in childcare environment
