Job Summary
Support the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of infants and toddlers. Provide constant supervision during classroom activities, outdoor play, and transitions, while assisting with diapering, toileting, feeding routines, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Collaborate with families to update them on child progress and foster positive relationships. Assist in classroom management, documentation, and record-keeping, and participate in required training on safety, medication administration, and child abuse recognition. Work 40 hours per week starting August 17th.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Early Childhood Professional Credential Level II (PDIS)
- Willingness to obtain CDA or Level II credential within two (2) years of hire
- First Aid, CPR, and medication administration certification
- Ability to lift/carry/manipulate up to 40 pounds
- Access to reliable transportation to perform functions of the job including being able to go to another location during the work day if necessary
- Minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado (if using a personal vehicle)
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check
- Completion of 'Recognition and Reporting and Child Abuse and Neglect' training
- Completion of 'Infant Safe Sleep Practices' training
- Completion of 'Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome and Abusive Head Trauma' training
- Completion of 'Medication Administration Training' and 'Precautions in Transporting Children' training
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of successful work experience with children birth to age three and/or to age five
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
