Job Summary
Assists teaching staff in infant/toddler classrooms; maintains a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment; supports daily routines (diapering, toileting, dressing, mealtimes, transitions); helps implement classroom activities (free play, story time, learning centers); supervises infants/toddlers on playgrounds; supports communication with children, families, and staff; may provide dual language instruction; assists with basic record keeping and classroom documentation; provides classroom coverage to maintain child-to-teacher ratios; adheres to grant standards, childcare licensing regulations, USDA policies, and OCDC procedures.
Required Qualifications
- No prior education or experience required
- Within 4 months from date of hire, must meet Oregon Early Learning Division’s requirements for an infant/toddler Teacher Aide II
- Infant-Toddler CDA certificate OR 1 year Oregon community college certificate (college certificate equivalent to ORO step 8) WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on development of infants and toddlers
- High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria AND Infant-Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate; or 1 year Oregon community college certificate (college certificate is equivalent to ORO step 8 in field)
