Job Summary
Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, lessons, and materials while maintaining classroom order and cleanliness. Provide direct physical care including feeding, diapering, and nap-time support for infants and toddlers. Monitor student behavior, enforce school policies, and document progress to ensure a safe, respectful learning environment. Communicate effectively with families and staff to support learning objectives while adhering to NAEYC standards and DHS licensing rules. Maintain confidentiality and follow all school procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Meet State childcare licensing requirements for infant toddler caregivers
- Option 1: High School Diploma/Equivalent, 12 credits approved early childhood courses; 30 hours approved infant/toddler training, and 12 months full time experience working with children under 36 months in a licensed group care setting
- Option 2: High School Diploma/Equivalent, 30 hours approved infant/toddler training, and 24 months full time experience working with children under 36 months in a licensed group care setting
- Option 3: No High School, 30 hours approved infant/toddler training, and 36 months full time experience working with children under 36 months in a licensed group care setting
- Must meet state licensing requirements (Medical, TB, and criminal history clearance)
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs
- CPR/First Aid certification
