Job Summary
Assist Lead Teacher in creating a warm, nurturing classroom for infants and toddlers, supporting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Collaborate with families and a professional team to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities, maintain materials and records, and communicate children’s progress using established tools. Ensure safety and wellbeing per EHS and DOHMH standards; engage in family engagement, teacher collaboration, and ongoing professional development. Strong emphasis on teamwork, leadership, and inclusion of children with diverse needs; bilingual ability preferred (English/Albanian or Spanish).
Required Qualifications
- Required Infant/Toddler CDA credential OR – 12 college credits toward an approved program in Early Childhood Education and currently enrolled
- Experience working with children ages birth to three and their families
- Enjoy working with children and families with diverse developmental, social, and cultural needs
- Maintain written records and manage time effectively
- Work collaboratively and demonstrate leadership
- Ability to lift children up to 35 lbs
- Bilingual English/Albanian or Spanish strongly preferred
- Pre-Employment requirements: NYS DOI Fingerprint Screening, NYS Central Registry Clearance, Sex Offender Registry Clearance, 3 reference checks, physical examination with TB test, vaccines/tdap/MMR/varicella, Mandated Reporter training (every 2 years), First Aid/CPR and Preventive Infectious Diseases certificates within first year, DOHMH health requirements
