Job Summary

Infant Lead Teacher in Portland, OR: lead and plan daily activities to support infants' social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth; provide active supervision; handle daily care (feeding, bottle prep, diapering, safe sleep) per policies and state standards; maintain a safe, clean, welcoming room; communicate with families and lead conferences; supervise aides; maintain attendance and developmental records; follow Oregon licensing rules and center policies; requires enrollment in Oregon’s CBR and completion of required trainings; CPR/First Aid/AED certifications and Food Handler’s card; Safe Sleep training; ability to lift up to 40 pounds; full-time, on-site position with benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • One of these pathways for infant/toddler age group: 750+ hours of qualifying teaching experience in a certified center or comparable program; OR 1,500 hours in registered or certified family child care; OR Step 6 on Oregon Registry or 9 college credits in specified Core Knowledge Categories; OR Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Human Development, or Child & Family Studies; OR recognized credential related to infant/toddler care (e.g., CDA)
