Job Summary
Coordinate production of high-quality wood pellets while serving as the coach, leader, and manager for the assigned manufacturing crew. Maintain a safe operating environment by driving the Lignetics Safety System, monitoring quality test results, and correcting root causes of incidents outside specified ranges. Operate the green in feed system, dryer system, dry hammer mill, kiln dried system, and pellet mills while keeping accurate production and downtime records. Set standards for housekeeping, quality, and productivity; administer the personal development program; and cover absences for vacation or sickness. Walk and stand 80% of the time, lifting up to 50 pounds, and visually inspect equipment indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Pre-employment background check and drug screen
- 3-5 years leadership experience
- Ability to coach, train and mentor
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Must be ready to walk / stand 80% of the time
- Must be ready to change positions often; Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed
- Must be ready to visually observe, inspect equipment and surroundings
- Must be lifting a minimum of 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, both indoors and outdoors, regardless of weather conditions
- Must be willing to flex their leadership style as needed
- Must be comfortable holding the team to a standard
- Must be able to motivate a team
- Must have continuous improvement mindset
- Must be qualified as relief in all positions and will cover for absences on the team such as vacation, sickness and other excused absences
Desired Qualifications
- Direct wood pellet manufacturing experience
- Prior experience in manufacturing process trouble shooting
- Demonstrated delegation and problem-solving abilities
