Job Summary
Operate single needle, double needle, and overlock machines to produce and repair sewn goods for the linen, tenting, and equipment protection departments. Read blueprints, trace patterns, cut material by hand, and coordinate repairs and production with other departments. Safely operate RF welding machines, automatic grommet setters, web cutters, and rotary tools while working with cotton, vinyl, polyester, taffeta, linen, and canvas. Create, fill out, and track time sheets, work orders, and production drawings; report inventory levels to specialists. Sort and place materials on racks according to size, type, style, or color. Maintain an organized and clean sewing department. Schedule includes Monday through Friday with potential for weekend work and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of manufacturing/sewing experience
- Ability to push/pull/lift/cary up to 60 lbs
- Proficient in operating a single needle, double needle and overlock machine
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret product schematics
- Knowledge of fabric assembly techniques
