Job Summary
Industrial Robotics Engineer on the Robotics & AI Software team focused on developing and implementing task and motion planning plus computer vision algorithms for robotic systems. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and optimizing planning algorithms within the robot planning framework; integrating and testing computer vision software for real-world robustness; collaborating with other teams to ensure seamless software integration; maintaining software development best practices for high-quality, reliable code with efficient testing and timely releases; and documenting code, algorithms, user manuals, and procedures while staying current with advances in robot planning technologies. Requires strong proficiency in C++ and Python, deep knowledge of robotics concepts (kinematics/dynamics, trajectory generation), experience with MoveIt and ROS, familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and experience working with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field with 5+ years of professional experience
- Proficient in programming languages such as C++ and Python
- Strong knowledge of data-structures, algorithms, and design pattern
- Fundamental understanding of industrial robotics including manipulator kinematics & dynamics, robot trajectory generation, and communications protocols
- Expertise with search algorithms, optimization methods, and constraint satisfaction
- Experience with open-source robotic planning and manipulation software packages such as MoveIt and ROS
- Knowledge of unit-testing, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers & owners, engineers, and internal customers
