Job Summary
Foreman to oversee riggers, millwrights, and skilled laborers from the Hagerstown, MD area. The role is a Working Foreman, requiring hands-on leadership to ensure project completion across machinery moving, complete facility relocations, plant maintenance, piping disconnects/reconnects, and installation of various material handling systems. Responsibilities include enforcing safety standards, leading and training crews, delegating tasks, supervising rigging and steel erection, overseeing dust-collection and conveyor installations, reading and interpreting drawings/blueprints, coordinating resources and equipment, and maintaining client relations. Requires 5+ years of field experience as a millwright/rigger, experience directing a workforce, ability to travel and work weekends as needed, travel-ready with DOT-physical clearance, and proficiency with cranes, forklifts, man lifts, and related equipment; strong communication and multitasking skills; high school diploma or GED. Salary is an hourly wage range plus Incentive Zone Pay based on location and distance from home.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of field experience as a millwright/rigger
- Experience directing a workforce
- Experience with equipment installation in heavy industry and/or erection of mining equipment
- Willingness to work weekends for client shutdowns
- Willingness to travel with overnight stays as necessary
- Ability to work at heights using ladders, man lifts, etc.
- Proficiency operating man lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, skid steer loaders, cranes
- Understanding of construction drawings
- Familiarity with working around cranes and hand signals
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DOT physical
