Industrial Pipefitter- Water/Waste Water

Job Summary
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of plumbing and piping systems, including waste, vent, storm, and process utilities, to perform layout, routing, fitting, joining, and installation for raw water, chemical dosing, and high-tolerance systems. Execute testing, inspecting, and recording for rough-in installations, set pumps and equipment, and position heavy mechanical apparatuses such as large industrial pumps and aeration blowers. Cut, bevel, and prepare multiple pipe types, perform offsets, and read construction drawings, specifications, and VDC models to ensure systems meet precise quality, pressure, and tolerance requirements. Coordinate tasks under established procedures, resolve issues, and mentor apprentices while maintaining lockout/tag-out procedures and conserving materials. Work full-time in the Mesa, AZ area with a safety-first mindset, adhering to McCarthy Safety Guidelines, OSHA regulations, and IPC/UPC codes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Must have own basic hand tools
- Must have reliable transportation to the job site
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well with others
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Ability to accurately layout plumbing and piping systems
- Ability to perform plumbing and piping tests
- Ability to create and maintain a safe working environment
- Experience with copper, PVC, CPVC, cast-iron, stainless steel, and carbon steel installations
- Ability to pass a pre-employment plumbing or pipefitting exam
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial plumbing and/or pipefitting experience preferred
- Previous water/wastewater treatment plant experience preferred
- Experience setting pumps and equipment preferred
- Experience positioning heavy mechanical equipment preferred
- Experience with process piping systems for raw water, chemical dosing, and high-pressure applications preferred
- Experience working from precise blueprints and VDC models preferred
- Experience with refrigerant piping and medical gas preferred
- Med Gas Certification preferred but not required
