Job Summary
Industrial Painter responsible for preparing and painting metal buildings, mixing paints, and operating spray equipment to ensure high quality finish. Tasks include masking surfaces, preparing metal surfaces, applying coatings (lacquer, paint, varnish, enamel, oil, rust protection), adjusting viscosity, and reading building prints to verify colors. Additional duties include spray foam insulation, use of lifting/moving devices, cleaning equipment, and training new Painters in safe operation. Requires ability to work under production pressure, stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, work in enclosed spaces, and a HS diploma or equivalent. Three years of prior industrial painting experience (auto painting acceptable) and forklift certification or ability to obtain certification are desirable. Safety and OSHA regulations must be followed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Three years of prior industrial painting experience
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
- Experience in body work such as bonding, repairing dents, scratches, etc.
- Educational Requirements/Degree(s): High school diploma, GED or equivalent
