Job Summary
Interpret job work orders to perform required railcar or tank car coatings, including final preparation tasks like caulking, taping, and masking. Spray paint and hand brush roll stock using various methods while maintaining all paint usage logs and gaging wet and dry mill readings. Set up and operate equipment such as Cup Guns and airless spray systems, ensuring compliance with FRA, AAR, and company safety and quality policies. Clean, maintain, and store equipment per manufacturer specifications, conduct inventory cycle counts of supplies, and apply painted stencils and decals as required. Follow all safety rules, keep work areas clean, and notify supervisors of material or equipment needs. Perform general inspections before painting and adhere to oral and written instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and communicate English at a proficient level
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to learn function-specific operational details and pass an exam to demonstrate knowledge
- Ability to learn, follow and perform required recordkeeping of ARS EHS, Quality policies, procedures, and checklists
- Knowledge of equipment and tools required to perform safe entry for cleaning
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Fully passing the fitness for duty examination
- Criminal background check
