Job Summary
Prepare and apply various coatings to ship surfaces and components using airless spray pumps, conventional spray pumps, and shot blasting machines. Perform surface preparation and epoxy mixing as required. You must be available for all shifts, including day, evening, and weekend rotations, with premiums applied for evening and weekend work. This role is part of Davie, Canada's largest shipyard, which builds and repairs specialized vessels for government and commercial clients.
Required Qualifications
- DVS in Industrial Painting
- High school diploma with relevant experience (surface preparation, epoxy mixing, sandblasting)
- DVS in Auto Bodywork
- Valid CCQ card (1st year apprentice or journeyman)
- Successful completion of the security screening process and obtainment of the required security clearance under the Federal Government's Contract Security Program (minimum of 5 years of residency in Canada, with no interruption of 6 consecutive months)
- You must be available for all shifts
