Job Summary
Conduct surface preparation by cleaning, sandblasting, masking, or priming raw steel to ensure maximum paint adhesion. Operate airless spray equipment to apply industrial primers, paints, and protective topcoats evenly to heavy-gauge roll-off containers and waste bins. Inspect finished surfaces for defects, verify coating thickness, and maintain spray guns, hoses, and sandblasting equipment. Adhere strictly to plant safety protocols and hazardous material handling guidelines while collaborating with fabricators to keep production schedules moving. Full-time role with 5AM-2PM hours; competitive hourly pay based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as an industrial painter
- Experience within a heavy steel fabrication, manufacturing, or structural steel environment
- Proficiency with industrial airless paint sprayers
- Proficiency with sandblasting equipment
- Proficiency with plural component systems
- Proficiency with various heavy-duty coating applications
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work in hot environments
- Ability to bend
- Ability to reach
- Ability to climb scaffolding or ladders
- Ability to lift heavy items
- A keen eye for consistency
