Industrial Paint Booth Maintenance Technician - Las Vegas

Job Summary

Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on industrial paint booths, media blasters, air compressors, breathing air systems, and related equipment at Nellis Air Force Base. Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and HVAC issues to restore safe and reliable equipment operation while maintaining accurate service records and documentation. Respond to scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency service requests, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage, while coordinating parts and escalating significant issues. Support OSHA breathing air testing and coordinate quarterly compliance inspections. Perform duties requiring travel to customer sites, use of a company vehicle, and adherence to strict safety protocols in industrial environments.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience maintaining industrial paint booths, spray finishing equipment, air compressors, HVAC or air handling systems, or similar industrial equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and airflow systems
  • Working knowledge of motors, fans, compressors, dryers, filters, regulators, electrical controls, and industrial ventilation equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, maintenance schedules, wiring diagrams, and technical documents
  • Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable under VetPowered's insurance requirements
  • Ability to successfully complete the required background and access process for work at Nellis Air Force Base and provide all information needed for VetPowered to coordinate the required credentials
  • Ability to maintain a primary residence within the Las Vegas service area throughout employment in this position
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and respond to changing customer priorities

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Use ladders and work in areas with limited access
  • Wear required personal protective equipment
  • Follow all applicable OSHA, environmental, customer, and Nellis Air Force Base safety requirements
  • Safely work around industrial machinery, elevated temperatures, noise, dust, paint, solvents, and maintenance chemicals
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment
  • Safely lift up to 50 pounds without assistance

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical education, trade school training, or industry certifications
  • Familiarity with OSHA breathing air requirements is a plus
  • Experience working on a military installation or in a government environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with OSHA breathing air requirements and Grade D air quality testing is a plus
  • Experience working on or around military installations is preferred
